Our founders

Built by people who understand the complexity of building.

Scott and Garrett Reynolds created UpCodes after Scott’s first hand experience seeing teams struggle every day with scattered, hard to use building codes. With backgrounds in technology, AI, architecture, and design, they built a platform that brings the entire code ecosystem into one clear, modern QA/QC workflow. The mission remains the same today: help professionals work smarter, reduce risk, and build better.

CEO and Co-Founder

Scott Reynolds is the co-founder and CEO of UpCodes, an AI-powered platform transforming how the building industry accesses and navigates construction code, assemblies and products. Trained as an architect, Scott worked in leading firms across Hong Kong and New York, where he witnessed firsthand how opaque, fragmented, and inaccessible code compliance processes slow down projects, increase costs, and put public safety at risk.

Garrett Reynolds

President and Co-Founder

Garrett Reynolds is the President and Co-Founder of UpCodes, an Austin-based technology company using artificial intelligence to make building codes searchable and accessible. A software engineer, Garrett built UpCodes with his brother Scott, a trained architect. Together, they are expanding the platform beyond code research to include assemblies, a comprehensive product library, and structured specifications—creating a connected ecosystem that helps designers, builders, and manufacturers improve accuracy, transparency, and speed.
